IHN

Infectious haematopoietic necrosis (IHN) is a viral disease affecting most species of salmonid fish.
Caused by the rhabdovirus, infectious haematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV), the principal clinical and
economic consequences of IHN occur on farms rearing fry or juvenile rainbow trout in freshwater where
acute outbreaks can result in very high mortality. RandAqua 8886555529.

RanaVirus

This ranavirus was isolated from moribund largemouth bass in South Carolina in 1995. It was previously
isolated from largemouth bass in several Florida lakes but had not been directly associated with disease.
It has been found in largemouth bass in most southeastern and many midwestern states. The disease is
not well understood, because the virus is commonly isolated from tissues of clinically normal fish. RandAqua 8886555529.

Megalocytivirus

The megalocytiviruses are another very important and emerging group of viruses within the family
Iridoviridae. They have been associated with disease in freshwater angelfish and gourami species, as
well as in numerous other aquacultured freshwater and marine food and aquarium fishes, including
oscars and other cichlids, swordtails, sailfin mollies, and other common live-bearers, and Banggai
cardinalfish. RandAqua 8886555529.

Bacteria

Bacteria involved in shrimp disease can be pathogenic or opportunistic. Under unfavorable
environmental circumstances for shrimp, opportunistic bacteria may cause disease. Bacterial infections
in shrimp may cause mortality, cuticular lesions, necrosis, opacity of muscle, discoloration of gills, slow
growth, loose cuticle, white gut, lethargia and reduced feed uptake. RandAqua 8886555529.

Black Gill Disease

Black-gill disease was well established as a fungal disease caused by Fusarium sp., reported it as an
epizootic syndrome with multiple etiology. Bacteriological isolation made from the penaeid shrimps
infected with epizootic black-gill and brown-spot of shell disease syndrome showed V. pelagicus and V.
alginolyticus the major isolates. RandAqua 8886555529.

Vannamei

Vibrio, Pseudomonas and Beneckea causes Black spot, Burn spot, Brown spot, Shell disease, Rust
disease in Vannamei. Lagenidium, Siropodium and Haliphthoros are the fungus that can affect Larvae. RandAqua 8886555529.

Salt

Salt is one of the most commonly used drugs in aquaculture. Salt can treat many external parasites such
as Costia, Epistylis, Trichodina, Chilodonella, flukes Dactylogyrus and Gyrodactylus. RandAqua 8886555529.

Loose Shell

Loose shell is a chronic disease and which leads to poor survival rate, poor feed intake, chronic mortalities etc., Itis because of poor water quality, poor pond management, poor soil conditions, chemical pesticides application, nutritional deficiency etc., RandAqua 8886555529.

EMS

EMS is caused by the bacterial agent Vibrio parahaemolyticus. EMS transmitted orally and colonises the shrimps gastrointestinal tract, then produces a toxin that causes tissue destruction and dysfunction of the shrimp digestive organ known as the hepatopancreas. RandAqua 8886555529.

Quick Lime

Quick lime or slacked lime may increase pH levels abruptly and is harmful for aquatic animal. Silicate slag is not suggested to use in aquaculture ponds. Agriculture lime is cost effective, suggested for aquaculture and is highly available. RandAqua 8886555529.
